For the summer of 2020, I lined up an internship with Volunteer Traditions in Nashville, TN.
Volunteer Traditions is an apparel company that makes awesome products for people who love Tennessee. Owned by Mason Jones, a UT grad who I originally met through an event with the Student Alumni Associates, Vol Trad provided a great opportunity for me to grow my skills and learn a new industry.
Despite the pandemic, I am extremely grateful that Mason kept me on and gave me the opportunity to learn first hand.
Throughout the summer, I worked largely on the strategy for the fall launch of the Bluetick Collection. Beginning in May, Mason tasked me with planning a launch for the new design, inspired by our state dog and beloved mascot. In this role that was less of a social media manager role and more of a strategist and consultant role, I was given the opportunity to think constructively and creatively to grow both the brand and business.
Some of the things I did included:
Making the Bluetick launch calendar
Consulting for social channels, providing analysis and outlining opportunities for growth
Building playbooks of best practices for social media channels
Making GIF packages for designs and logos
Making coverage plans for gamedays
Creating media kits for the Bluetick Launch
Market research for competitors
Revising blog posts to SEO format
